07-23/2008 Sad news today, Sandy's prognosis has gone from remotely curable to terminal. We are still working hard with the Foundation Life is For Giving to raise funds to give Sandy a special moment or short vacation with her Husband and Son. Donations of Cash and Airmiles are greatly appreicated. Please contact Victor Ratz at 751-4500 for more details. We have so far raised $1400 and hope to continue with our goal to raise $100,000 to help her and her family through this most difficult of times. ________________________________________________________ We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts the people that have stepped up and given generously to Sandy's cause because every penny is truly appreciated. Special Mention to the folks at Koonce Pfeffer Bettis , The Law office if Gary Eschbacher, The Life is Forgiving Foundation and everyone else that let us know they made a donation. Victor & Petra Ratz and all of us at AMS ________________________________________________________ It is with great regret and heavy heart that I write to inform you that Sandra Coyne, known to most of you as “Sandy”, our most valued friend and Downtown “A” Route Driver for over 4 years has been diagnosed with a very advanced and aggressive form of cancer. Sadly Sandy has had to leave us to begin immediate Chemo Therapy and surgery this week. Sandy has been an inspiration to us over the years because of her extraordinary dedication and her “ No failures on my watch” approach to her daily duties. She made it her personal task to look after each and every one of our clients with extraordinary diligence and we will miss her. We are behind her every step of the way to help her any way we can and hope to inspire her valued clients to do the same. This news has devastated Sandy, her family and all of us at AMS. The financial burden she and her family must now bear is enormous. With no health insurance nor disability insurance to assist her with the incredible costs of treatment and day to day survival she has little hope to get exactly the treatment she deserves. With help from our good friends at the “Life is For Giving” Foundation we have set up an account for her at Key Bank to receive donations to help her survive and make a dent in her treatment costs. With even the smallest gift, together we can make a difference in her now tough life. If you wish to make a donation please do so at any Key Bank branch by referencing “Life is For Giving Foundation” and the last four digits of the account number 8512. Our goal is to raise $100,000 and every penny counts. So far we have raised $1005 in two days…Almost there! We will be donating a portion of our proceeds from deliveries to her cause until she is cured. Warmly, Victor & Petra Ratz and all the staff at Anchorage Messenger Service and SwitchBoard Alaska.
